"During the meeting, they discussed security developments in Iraq and the region and the importance of strengthening NATO's relations and cooperation with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the areas of counter-terrorism and training of security forces," said the Kurdistan Region Presidency in a statement.
Barzani "expressed the Kurdistan Region's thanks and appreciation for NATO's support in strengthening the defense capabilities of the Peshmerga forces and emphasized the importance of continuing this support to maintain stability and security in the region," it added.

They also focused on coordination in countering terrorism and confronting ISIS [Islamic State] threats," according to a statement from the Kurdish presidency.
"President Nechirvan Barzani considered Britain's continued support in security and defense for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as necessary and important, particularly in training Peshmerga forces and strengthening their capabilities. He also reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region's commitment to joint work in ensuring security and stability in the region," it added.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met British Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Munich on Saturday.
“The meeting discussed Britain’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and how to strengthen cooperation in the political, security, and economic fields,” said a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency.
Barzani thanked Lammy for London’s continued support for Erbil and Baghdad, particularly in fighting terrorism, according to the presidency, while Lammy reiterated the UK’s support for the Region.
“The parliamentary elections and the formation of the next Kurdistan Regional Government, the situation in Syria, and current regional developments” were also discussed during the meeting, according to the Kurdish statement.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Saturday is expected to continue meeting senior diplomats and officials from around the world on the second day of the Munich Security Conference.
He met with numerous world leaders and officials on Friday, the first day of the three-day conference, discussing security concerns and the Kurdistan Region’s role in regional developments.
The Munich Security Conference is an annual event bringing together world decision makers, academics, and civil society leaders to discuss security issues. The first day of the 61st edition focused on global security challenges. Saturday will be dedicated to discussions on the state of the international order. On the last day of the event, there will be discussions on the role of Europe in the world, according to its agenda.
