President Barzani meets world leaders at COP28
Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met numerous world leaders at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai on Friday.
Barzani arrived in Dubai on Thursday to attend the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the UN’s annual climate summit, where dozens of world leaders gather with business and civil society representatives to discuss one of the greatest challenges facing the planet.
On Thursday, he met several world leaders, including King Charles III.
On the second day of the conference, President Barzani attended a ceremony in Dubai where the Zayed Sustainability Prize was awarded.
He also met numerous world leaders and officials, including United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“The importance of united efforts and global cooperation to protect our planet cannot be overstated,” President Barzani said on X on Friday.
