Biography


He worked for a time at Rudaw’s office in Sulaimani after the events of October 16, 2017. He covered the attacks launched by the Islamic State (ISIS) and Peshmerga operations in the province of Kirkuk. He has also covered humanitarian stories on refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) fleeing war.Among his best work was an interview with a young ISIS fighter who wanted to blow up Kirkuk’s Tishin neighborhood in 2016 – a report which later went viral on social media.
On October 21, 2016, more than 100 ISIS militants infiltrated three buildings and malls in Kirkuk. Like many other times in the past, international news agencies used Rudaw’s coverage of the incident.Mohammed along with other Rudaw correspondents took part in the coverage of Peshmerga attacks on ISIS positions around Mosul and the Iraqi offensive to recapture the city.
 

He also participated extensively in Rudaw’s coverage of the attacks waged by Iraqi forces on October 16, 2017 in Kirkuk and the plight of tens of thousands of people fleeing the war.The resumption of Arabization in the province of Kirkuk has also featured in his work. His reports on the attempted expulsion of Kurds from the villages of Yangija and Dawda have helped rally the public against the policy.

Mohammed was born on March 2, 1987 in Kirkuk. He completed his studies at the Kirkuk Fine Arts Institute in 2011. He is married and has two sons. He is a member of Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate. He was a correspondent for the news channel ‘Kirkuk’ in 2008. Later, he joined Gali Kurdistan as a correspondent. He speaks Kurdish and Arabic.
