ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – At least 13 Turkish soldiers were killed and 48 wounded in a car bomb explosion on Saturday which targeted a bus transporting the officers in the country’s central city of Kayseri.
The Dogan news agency said that the blast went off across the Erciyes University in the city.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
An investigation into the attack is underway, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency.
In a similar attack in Istanbul’s Besiktas neighborhood last week 38 people were killed and 155 others were wounded.
The Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK) group claimed responsibility for last week's attack.
