ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Tuesday that at least 11 civilians were killed in two separate attacks in northern Syria in one day. Nearly 30 others were injured in both attacks.
"Over the past two days, the Turkish occupation has committed three massacres against the innocent civilians in north and eastern Syria," said the SDF in a statement.
It elaborated that three civilians, including two children, were killed when a village in Raqqa province's Ain Issa was "brutally shelled" by Turkey on Monday, adding that Ankara shelled Zirkan area near Tal Tamir which led to the killing of three civilians and injury of nine others.
"The third massacre happened this evening in Serrin city [near Manbij], where a Turkish occupation UCAV bombed the popular market in the city, causing the martyrdom of eight civilians and injuring 20 others, some critically," read the statement.
Turkey has not commented on the attacks and it has repeatedly emphasized that it does not target civilians during its attacks against SDF in Syria.
The SDF has blamed Turkey and Turkish-backed militants for a spate of attacks recently on civilians at northern Syria’s key Tishreen Dam on the Euphrates River, which have inflicted deaths and injuries.
