Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani was among dozens of world leaders attending the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on Tuesday. 

Reformist Pezeshkian, who won the run-off presidential vote on July 5, took oath as Iran’s ninth president at the parliament on Tuesday. Nearly 90 dignitaries from dozens of countries took part in the ceremony. 

President Barzani led a delegation from the Kurdistan Region. 

The Kurdistan Region and Iran enjoy good economic ties, sharing several border crossings.
