A photography exhibition titled “Tarmay” was launched by photographer Halo Lano in Erbil on Saturday.
The exhibition is part of the Helan Art Exhibition organized by the German Goethe Institute in Iraq in collaboration with the Framing Photojournalism School, Lano told Rudaw, adding that he worked on the exhibition for a month and it will last for a week.
“Tarmay”, which means blindness, is a series of black and white photographic works that depict the inner confusion and loneliness of the individual in a complex and crowded era of rapid and continuous development of technology and questions the value and content of being human.
Lano was born in 1981 in the city of Sulaimani. He is one of the founders of Concept Art Group and has participated in more than 20 exhibitions.
The exhibition consists of a series of photographic works that depict the bitter, distorted, and obscure images of human beings in the heart and the identity of human beings. It combines many moments of movement in one second and reflects them at the same time in the snapshot.
The technique with a digital camera takes advantage of the speed of the model’s movement to experiment with new shapes to achieve a dynamic image.
