ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Several people, including members of security forces, were injured in a shooting incident in Duhok city on Wednesday, a security source told Rudaw. Circumstances behind the shooting remain unclear.

Duhok police are searching for gunmen who shot at civilians and police officers in the city centre. CCTV footage obtained by Rudaw purportedly shows the shooter walking in the incident area with a gun in his right hand.

A security source told Rudaw on the condition of anonymity that several people were injured in the shooting, including police officers.

Helicopters hovered over the city and police were searching nearby neighbourhoods to find the perpetrator, according to a Rudaw reporter on the ground.

Duhok police said in a post on Facebook that the perpetrator had been arrested without providing information on the incident.

A dispute turned into a deadly exchange of shooting in Erbil on Monday. At least three people were killed in the incident. A number of suspects were arrested.
