Rudaw Media Network has achieved another milestone in 2024, clinching three prestigious W3 Silver Awards in the United States. The network's acclaimed program With Ranj garnered two accolades, while its compelling documentary A Year of War secured an additional honor.

Established in 2006, the W3 Awards are handed out by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) in New York. These esteemed international accolades recognize excellence annually across diverse categories, including websites, video production, marketing, applications, technological innovation, podcasts, and advertising.

This year's winners' circle includes Rudaw alongside global industry titans such as Radio Canada, Netflix, Yahoo, Qatar Tourism, Nickelodeon, and Bank of America. Previous years have seen recognition of powerhouses like NASA, Apple, Google, Disney, Amazon, The New York Times, CNN, and Microsoft.

Lauren Angeloni, managing director of AIVA, commended Rudaw's achievement. "This is a remarkable accomplishment for Rudaw. I'm delighted to acknowledge them as part of the vanguard of digital innovation,” she said.

Reflecting on this global recognition, Ali Jaff, public relations director at Rudaw Media Network, stated: "Amplifying people's voices and conveying truths invariably leads to such accolades. 'With Ranj' and 'A Year of War' exemplify Rudaw's unwavering commitment to showcasing authentic narratives and human experiences."

A Year of War, filmed in February 2023, is a poignant chronicle of life under conflict. Shot by the talented correspondent Dilnya Rahman and intrepid cameraman Ahmed Omar in Ukraine's embattled cities of Bakhmut and Kherson, with editing by Birwa Omar, the documentary offers a raw glimpse into wartime realities.

The episode of With Ranj in Nugra Salman, filmed on May 16, 2024, was helmed by Kurdistan's renowned presenter, Ranj Sangawi. The program featured an unprecedented journey, as Sangawi led a delegation of Kurdish intellectuals, artists, scientists, and Anfal survivors' families from Kurdistan to Nugra Salman in Iraq's Arar desert. After a grueling 15-hour journey, they reached the site where, during the Anfal campaigns, countless individuals were imprisoned and later buried alive - atrocities since recognized as genocide by the Iraqi High Criminal Court.

Rudaw Media Network reaffirms its dedication to delivering professional, impactful journalism for and alongside communities in Kurdistan and worldwide.
