Russia pounds Ukraine’s Odesa three nights in a row
MYKOLAIV, Ukraine - For the third night in a row, Russia fired missiles at the port city of Mykolaiv in Ukraine’s Odesa region, killing two and wounding at least 19 civilians, including five children, Rudaw's Dilniya Rahman reported from the ground, speaking to local authorities and eyewitnesses.
On Thursday night, ten residential buildings and 20 other households were damaged.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the Russian air raids as an attack on the civilian lives of Ukraine and the entire world. “Everyone is affected by this Russian terror. Everyone in the world should be interested in bringing Russia to justice for its terror," he wrote.
"Today's [Russian] terrorists' attack on Odesa proves that their target is not only [Ukraine], and not only the lives of our people. About a million tons of food is stored in the ports attacked today.
“This is the volume that should have been delivered to consumer countries in Africa and Asia long ago.
"The port terminal that suffered the most from the [Russian] terror last night had 60,000 tons of agricultural products stored in it, which were intended to be shipped to China."
Russia has been hitting Odesa and the region's grain stores over the past few days after Moscow vowed revenge for an attack on a bridge between Russia and Crimea that Moscow blamed on Kyiv.
