Three killed as land dispute turns into deadly clash

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A land dispute on Monday turned into a deadly exchange resulting in the killing of three and the injury of four others near Erbil’s 120-meter road, a security source told Rudaw.

A security source told Rudaw on the condition of anonymity that two people were killed and five others were injured in the clash. Two of the injured underwent emergency operations, according to Rudaw’s reporter on the ground.

One of the injured succumbed to his wounds hours later.

The fight was over a commercial piece of land on the 120-meter road. The incident occurred around 6:00 pm in Erbil’s Hawleri Nwe neighborhood, according to Rudaw's reporter.

Police and security forces arrived at the site of the incident and started investigations. Cars from both sides of the conflict were left at the location of the clash.
