President Barzani offers scholarships for Kurdistan Region’s top students
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The University of Kurdistan Hewler (UKH) on Thursday announced it was granting scholarships to 18 of the Kurdistan Region’s top students from this year’s graduating class, sponsored by Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani.
Called the Nechirvan Barzani Scholarship Scheme, the grants cover full tuition fees for all years of study at the university, as well as accommodation for students who reside outside of the capital.
The scholarships are awarded to the students who ranked first and second across the Kurdistan Region in either the scientific or literary and humanities tracks.
The UKH was founded by President Barzani in 2006 and is widely regarded across the Kurdistan Region as an institution whose graduates receive significantly higher employment opportunities and are favored when applying for jobs in the private sector.18 Scholarship Opportunities for 12th Grade Top Students at #UKH

It is located in the center of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil and offers English-language studies at the undergraduate and graduate levels in science, engineering, social sciences, medicine, and business.
A major deterrent to high school graduates seeking a place in one of UKH’s departments is high tuition that ranges from $3,000 to $10,500 per year.
